BIG Math Network: Industry Connection Series: Recruiters and HR Professionals

The Industry Connection Series features interactive panels with mathematical scientists working in industry. The goal is to connect mathematical sciences students directly with industry members who can answer student-generated questions. Students at all levels are welcome and encouraged to attend and ask questions. 
 
The next event is Thursday, March 14th at 2:30 pm ET. Panelists will be Rob Ryder, a recruiting manager at SubCom in Newington, NH and a Certified Military Veteran Recruiter and Certified Diversity Recruiter, by AIR, Natalie Kovacic, who leads Talent Acquisition & Early Careers for Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics, and National Security Agency (NSA) Math Hiring.

Rob Ryder holds a bachelor’s in business administration from Colby-Sawyer College and is certified by AIRS as a Certified Military Veteran Recruiter and Certified Diversity Recruiter. He is currently the recruiting manager at SubCom in Newington, NH who is responsible for filling open positions in engineering, finance, IT, procurement/buying, R&D, environmental, manufacturing, and marine organizations. Other responsibilities include building relationships with the veteran community including local TAP offices, Veterati, American Corporate Partners (ACP) and other veterans networking groups. Rob also aims to build and maintain relationships with local colleges and universities including University of New Hampshire and University of Massachusetts at Lowell to help recruit from our local resources. Prior to SubCom, he spent 15 years in the staffing industry as a recruiter, account manager and a team leader responsible for running remote staffing teams.

Natalie Kovacic leads Talent Acquisition & Early Careers for Walmart Advanced Systems & Robotics, which combines robotics and automation to develop solutions for retail. Prior to Walmart, she led talent acquisition for over a dozen early-stage startups and venture platforms based in Boston and Pittsburgh. Natalie has spearheaded numerous professional development programs for technology partners and associations, including the Pittsburgh Technology Council and Innovation Works, among others.
