Extended: Steering Committee Self-Nominations

Thinking about serving? It’s not too late! The self-nomination period has been extended.

The BIG Math Network Steering Committee is excited to announce the opening of self-nominations for Steering Committee members. Committee members play a critical role in guiding the strategic direction and decision-making of BIG Math Network. Serving as a committee member is an opportunity to contribute your expertise, leadership, and passion to our mission to promote careers in Business, Industry, and Government to students and departments of the mathematical sciences.

Here are the key details for the nomination process:

Nomination Period: The nomination period opens now and will remain open until October 29 Wednesday, November 28.

Eligibility: To be eligible for self-nomination, individuals must be currently employed as a practitioner or faculty member in the mathematical sciences.  We encourage members from diverse backgrounds and with varied skills to consider self-nominating.

Available Positions: We have 10 positions in total who server for three years: 5 practitioners and 5 faculty. This year, we are seeking 3 faculty members and one practitioner.

How to Nominate: To nominate yourself, please complete the self-nomination form at https://forms.gle/zPm727eNHRqDR6BE7 before the nomination deadline. If you have any questions or need assistance, feel free to reach out to a current Steering Committee member.

Selection Process: After the nomination period closes, the current Steering Committee will review all submissions and reach out to the nominees if additional information is needed.  On or before November 15 December 1, the current Steering Committee will vote for the new members.
